According to the U.S. National Institutes of Health, a Blake’s cyst can in fact cause some of the things we see in JYS, like a large head, mental retardation, hypotonia (lack of muscle tone), and gait disturbance. He’s complained of nocturnal polyuria (peeing a lot at night) and sleepiness, both of which can be caused by a Blake’s cyst, but since he has uncontrolled Type 2 diabetes, that might be the actual cause of those two problems.
His 2019 dramas about sporadic fainting (syncope) could also have been caused by the cyst, but have miraculously stopped, and his neurosurgeon has said no surgery is necessary at the present time, so was the cyst causing syncope last year or was JYS, knowing that was a possible symptom, just thrilled by the chance to collect disability and cruise around on a mobility scooter?
Since Blake cysts can shrink as well as grow, it’s feasible that he has fewer problems this year than last, though he’s such a liar it’s hard for me to assume that’s the case.
